Meet the hands behind the brush
I'm ella horton, the one-person studio behind Art by elz. Every piece starts with raw inspiration and a quiet afternoon in Manchester.
Why art, and why these subjects?
I explore life and paint it back the way I see it, layered in watercolour and left a little imperfect on purpose. Each piece begins with small everyday moments — a quiet Manchester street, a shift in afternoon light, the way colour bleeds at the edges of things. I work slowly, letting the medium guide the mark, and I leave the rough bits in. That’s where the warmth lives.
One artist, a brush, and a quiet Manchester workspace
Every piece from Art by elz starts the same way. Pigment, ink, and unhurried hours at a table in Manchester, where the work quietly takes shape.
